From now on we will bring a status of every step in the development of 36-image converter 4.6 until its release.
Today we succeeded into implementing surfaced resizing. It sounds easy as 36-image converter could already resize images, but it isn’t. When using surfaces you have to keep in mind that the surface has to be changed as well. In version 4.5 with the old rendering engine, we could just scale the image and reload it, et voila the image was resized. Here we have to send a scale command to the function which keeps track of the surface and draws the image, the image has to be resized, we have to change the size of the canvas and reload the image afterwards, then we have to change the scale again so the image isn’t scaled twice.
But anyway we succeeded and so far 36-image converter 4.6 can load images, save images, make a backup for the history function, reset images to default and resize images. Now we still have to change the following functions : undo, redo, history panel, icon resize, rotate, move, make transparent, crop, erase, red eye removal/recoloring, brush, erase, add text, mask, filter, add background, color mozaic and merge with image.
So we still have a long way to go, but you can still expect 36-image converter 4.6 at the end of the month. The new rendering engine has also shown us the possibility to zoom in/out on images and to add more advanced effects like blurring.
