iDuelpro Portuguese edition is available for download

Our Yu-gi-oh! calculator for iPhone, iDuelpro, is now available in Portuguese as well. This brings the most used yu-gi-oh! calculator for iPhone to Brazil where iDuelpro wasn’t available before because apps in the games section aren’t allowed in Brazil and hence do not appear in the Brazilian App Store. So we simply made a new version which is only available in Portugal and Brazil and does not appear in the games section. As a little extra we made a complete Portuguese translation of iDuelpro.

So to make a long story short, Brazilian and Portuguese people now have an iDuelpro in their own language!

A new Duelpro for Windows update has been pushed out as well today, this version already contains a download link to the (P) version of iDuelpro.

The normal iDuelpro and the iDuelpro (P) for Brazil and Portugal are both available in the iTunes App Store.

Preview of the coming iDuelpro v3.6 – Yu-gi-oh! calculator for iPhone!

EDIT: iDuelpro v3.6 is now live in the App Store, available for you to download. Download here : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iduelpro-yu-gi-oh-calculator/id299220306?mt=8

A few days ago we submitted the newest version of iDuelpro to the App Store. With v3.6 we skip 2 minor version and this is to point out the significance of this version as it is the biggest update to iDuelpro for iPhone ever and it also makes iDuelpro for iPhone the Duelpro variant with the most features on any platform. Which means that iDuelpro 3.6 brings more power in the palm of your hand than in an entire PC.

The most significant new features are the new settings panel which for example enables you to set both player’s names and the hybrid field view with support for both spell counters and monster tokens.

Here’s a full list of all changes :
-Ability to change the player’s names
-Ability to change the lifepoints base value from 8000 to 4000 or 2000
-Win/Loss/Draw counter in a statistics section
-Automated function to calculate your Victory percentage
-Added a function to reset statistics
-Added support for up to 19.980 spell counters on a virtual field
-Added support tokens on a virtual field
-Ability to toggle sides when using customized names
-Added a settings panel
-Added a twitter link to stay up-to-date on the latest iDuelpro news
-Fixed “Display wrong grammar on victory” bug
-Minor changes to make the top bar blend in with the GUI
-New online PDF help file with screenshots
-New Splash screen

What works on the iPhone also works on iPod Touch of course so iDuelpro is still available for everyone with iPhone OS 2.0 or higher. The price will remain the same as always $0.99 or €0.79 or 0,59£ or 110¥. It will be available somewhere next week if Apple doesn’t find some F* up reason why it shouldn’t be released, I’m betting on a forbidden word in the marketing text or such…

Here’s a screenshot overview of all changes :

iDuelpro Lite Approved by Apple, soon live in App Store

Yes, that was the event we were planning. A free version of our Yu-gi-oh! lifepoints calculator for iPhone, iDuelpro.

And yes, we admit. The competition in the Yu-gi-oh! section of the iTunes Store went up the last couple of weeks. We started fishing with 12 people in a puddle with only a few fish in it and this raises competition of course. Many MTG application developers are switching to yu-gi-oh! as well to gain some extra bucks.

Therefore we have to raise focus on iDuelpro Mobile. Our iDuelpro Mobile 3.2 was approved this week and now a free version of iDuelpro will appear as iDuelpro Lite. In this way we can destroy competition by providing our free version in the free apps segment and there are also in-App ads so people can decide to upgrade to the normal iDuelpro if they want more features. iDuelpro Lite has more features than the only free Yu-Gi-Oh! LPC currently available and will not cannibalize the iDuelpro Marketshare because it’s in a different pricing segment. But if people decide not to pay for an App they might as well decide to not pay for an App provided by us. In this way we can provide people with a decent yugioh LPC without the need of a credit card or without having to pay anything.

The full iDuelpro will also get a whole bunch of extra features in a while with version 3.3 and version 4.0 in October.

So this is another step in getting a unified version yu-gi-oh! LPC on every operating system and device.

We expect iDuelpro Lite to hit the App Store within a few hours, so keep an eye out. We will also tweet and post another blogpostwhen it is online.

Therefore we have to raise focus on iDuelpro Mobile. Our first declined submission for iDuelpro 3.2 will now be up in the App Store soon and on the front page of the games section and we are also doing something remarkable. In a while a free version of iDuelpro will appear as iDuelpro Lite. It has been submitted to the App Store and so we’re waiting. In this way we can destroy competition by providing our free version in the free apps segment and there are also in-App ads so people can decide to upgrade to the normal iDuelpro if they want more features.

iDuelpro Sales up thanks to Duelpro Monopoly and new release

We have released Duelpro 2009 yesterday, another major version of the most used yu-gi-oh! lifepoints calculator. Other than the fixes, improvements, new features and GUI overhaul, there was another change. Duelpro now features an iDuelpro introduction screen at start!

The problem with iDuelpro isn’t that it’s not useful, since most people who use it have remarked it being the best LPC around. The problem is how many people know about it. iDuelpro is the cheapest full featured lifepoints aid for iPhone and iPod Touch, but as long as people don’t know this they will keep’on buying too expensive ugly LPC’s with the same or less functionality then iDuelpro. Therefore we are introducing iDuelpro to all people who own Duelpro for Windows, 532.896 in total at the moment.

By doing this we can show people that if they own an iPhone or iPod Touch and they play the Yu-gi-oh! TCG, iDuelpro is a must have. And we are already noticing this, today our marketshare on the iPhone already increased after dropping for a while and our sales were up 75%. We will have another exposure to 5.000 people in the coming month and are even thinking about advertising on major sites by the end of this year. In this way we can provide all iPhone or iPod Touch yu-gi-oh! fans with a decent and cheap solution to improve their TCG experience.

Another great thing is that we have gotten this amazing email today of someone who liked iDuelpro Mobile so much that he wanted to thank us personally. This is just great, if there is anything that makes us more happy than the financial reports at the end of the month, it’s a happy customer. This is something we are now experiencing for the first time, since we have been developing for Windows the past years.

So if you like iDuelpro or Duelpro, send us an email and make us happy!

Duelpro 2009 coming tomorrow!

It’s been a while since we last updated Duelpro and I must say the last update didn’t do any good. The interface looks like crap and it’s not exactly intuitive. Therefore we are going to make it up with all Duelpro 2008.1 users by releasing Duelpro 2009 tomorrow.

Duelpro 2009 is completely rebuild from scratch, which makes it much faster and more stable than Duelpro 2008. The most important change will probably be the interface. Duelpro 2009 will be full of eyecandy and new features which have never been in a Windows TCG lifepoints calculator before.

The interface is now totally rebuild and a whole lot different, the quick access buttons for dealing or restoring predefined amounts of lifepoints have been natively implemented now and there will also be a halve and a double lifepoints option. There will even be a feature in Duelpro 2009 which has yet to appear in the iPhone version, a custom preset button, in which you can store an amount of lifepoints and deal it as damage or restore it at a single click. DPR 2009 will also come with a lifepoints bar to keep track of your lifepoints and an Undo feature.

There’s of course still room for the classic features like keyboard shortcuts, a card tracker for both players, a button to declare a draw, a direct kill button for eg. exodia and destiny board, a phase and turn keeper, a dashboard and dice and coin simulation.

In total the interface of Duelpro now consists of 108 images and has a completely new icon which will soon be applied to all (i)Duelpro versions.

Duelpro 2009 will be released tomorrow evening and will be freely available from our site to freely distribute. We will allow leaching and will not set anymore redirections for Duelpro and iDuelpro. So you can freely share Duelpro with your friends or link to the executable on our site. It’s our purpose to make as many people as possible update to Duelpro 2009. There will only be one catch, we will advertise our newest iDuelpro for iPhone when the installer exits.

Duelpro nearing 100% marketshare in windows lifepoints aids

Since our last competitor went offline, Duelpro is now nearing an absolute marketshare of 100% on Windows. Which means nearly all yugioh! TCG players using an LPC on Windows, use Duelpro. Duelpro has been online since 2005 and quickly gained a big piece of the pie. With its only competitors at that time being Omnipotus lifepoints calc and Yugioh! Lifepoints Calculator a year later, Duelpro never had much competition, but still 10% stayed in the hands of alternative lifepoints aids. Now both competitors have faded due to Duelpro’s success. In total it has been downloaded +-300.000 times making it one of our most successful applications, second to 36-image converter (+-520.000 times).

It may not be professional for us to keep Duelpro alive but we are a little bit attached to it since it was our first app ever distributed and it’s a great way to scout new platforms and programming languages.

Other platforms

Since 2008 Duelpro has even been ported to other platforms taking a modest marketshare on Mac OSX and a 1/3th of the iPhone cake with iDuelpro. We have also announced a Linux port and an online version of Duelpro, which will both be opensource under the MPL or GPL License.

The future of Duelpro

In the future we will keep on maintaining and proving support for Duelpro and will even expand it. As already mentioned there will be online and Linux ports, but we will also improve existing versions with Duelpro 2010 and iDuelpro 2010. iDuelpro 2010 will be directly rebuild out of the iDuelpro for iPhone source code and hence have the same features and will also be advertised in the same way as Duelpro for Windows to also increase its marketshare.

Duelpro 2010 for Windows will get a whole bunch of new features which people who reviewed the iPhone app suggested but aren’t feasible on the iPhone or Mac. Like eg. a card database, a log of all players you dueled with and a completely new interface.

iDuelpro Mobile for iPhone will also be promoted some more by adding ads to the Setup of all other versions and by creating a lite version. With a little luck we will be able to make iDuelpro Mobile lift on the success of the normal Duelpro and take the leading marketshare on the iPhone as well, as we once did with the free version of iDuelpro Mobile.

We already have the leading position since most people use Windows, even for their lifepoints calculator needs. We should have an estimated 70% of the global marketshare. But with the iPhone we are leaving a part of the market behind which is the most profitable and which may fund future innovations.

So for all other LPC developers : Be warned, Duelpro is coming to your platform…

iDuelpro Mobile 3.1 ready to be uploaded

A few weeks ago we first released a paid version of our yugioh LPC for iPhone, iDuelpro Mobile (v3.0) and now we already have a new update available. Dramatic updates always have drawbacks and receive a lot of criticism and hence some things had to be fixed and updated.

The “10.000″ button is now removed and replaced by a button which pops-up a dialog to deal a custom amount of damage or to restore a custom amount of lifepoints, there is an undo button added to undo the last action as requested by some users and a button for direct kill combo’s or cards like exodia or destiny board.

If iDuelpro Mobile will keep on existing is still unclear, yesterday we had completely no sales and in the first two weeks Apple allowed thousands of people to update for free thus creating a potential loss of hundreds of dollars. We still have the cheapest full yu-gi-oh LPC available for the iPhone considering that any other LPC is 4,99$ or more, but since iDuelpro became paid people just don’t seem that interested.

You can still buy the current version for 0,99$ in the iTunes App Store
